Core Principles of Editorial Ethics of the Journal, Responsibilities of the Editorial Board and Editorial Team:
Impartiality and objectivity in manuscript evaluation.
When making decisions regarding a scientific manuscript, the editorial board remains impartial and is guided by the validity of its scientific significance, evaluating the intellectual content of manuscripts regardless of race, gender, religious beliefs, nationality, social status, language, geographic or other criteria that may be discriminatory towards the author.
Confidentiality and disclosure of conflicts of interest.
The editorial board does not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, (potential) reviewers, and the publisher, if necessary. Unpublished data obtained from submitted manuscripts are not used for personal purposes and are not shared with third parties without the author’s written consent. Privileged information or arguments obtained through peer review are kept confidential and are not used for personal advantage or the advantage of third parties. The editor and any member of the editorial board shall recuse themselves from the consideration of manuscripts in the event of any conflicts of interest arising from collaborative, competitive, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors or organizations/institutions related to the manuscript. If competing interests are identified after publication, corrections must be published.
Adherence to the principles of academic integrity.
The editorial board does not accept for publication scientific works if there are sufficient grounds to believe that they contain plagiarism, undisclosed conflicts of interest, are written using AI, contain information and/or ideas that may offend other authors or specific groups of people, contain information and/or ideas intended to incite hostility, or otherwise violate the journal’s editorial policy in matters of editorial ethics and academic integrity.
Responsibility and willingness to cooperate.
The editorial board undertakes to respond to inquiries and complaints regarding submitted manuscripts or published scientific works, to take action in cases of detected misconduct: to reject the manuscript, require revisions, initiate procedures for correction, update or retraction of published scientific works, and, in cases of serious violations, to inform the relevant institutions and take measures to restore violated copyright and related rights. All inquiries and claims are considered by the editorial board in accordance with the approved Complaint Handling Procedure.
Reviewers evaluating scientific manuscripts submitted to the journal must be guided in their activities by ethical standards, the list of which is not limited to those set out below, but necessarily includes:
Impartiality.
When reviewing a scientific manuscript, the reviewer must be impartial and guided by the validity of the scientific significance of the manuscript, evaluating its intellectual content regardless of race, gender, religious beliefs, nationality, social status, language, geographic or other criteria that may be discriminatory towards the author.
Objectivity.
The reviewer is obliged to provide an objective and reasoned evaluation of the presented research results. All comments made by the reviewer must be thoroughly substantiated and supported by explanations regarding necessary revisions.
Efficiency.
A reviewer who considers that they do not have sufficient qualification to evaluate the manuscript, or is aware of a lack of time that makes it impossible to complete the review within the specified period, must inform the editorial board and request to be excluded from the review process of the given manuscript..
Timeliness.
The reviewer has a moral obligation to promptly evaluate the scientific manuscript accepted for review. In the event of circumstances that make further review impossible or may result in significant delay beyond the established deadlines, the reviewer must inform the editorial board of their withdrawal from the process.
Disclosure of conflicts of interest.
A reviewer who cannot remain objective due to a conflict of interest arising from collaborative, competitive, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors or organizations/institutions must inform the editorial board and request to be excluded from the review process of the given manuscript.
Confidentiality.
Each scientific manuscript received for review must be treated as a confidential document. It must not be reviewed or discussed with others without explicit permission from the editor. Privileged information or arguments obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage or the advantage of third parties. Unpublished materials disclosed in the manuscript must not be used in the reviewer’s own research without the author’s explicit written consent.
Integrity.
The absence of references in a scientific manuscript submitted for publication must be noted and evaluated by the reviewer. In the case of similarity or partial overlap with publications known to the reviewer that are not cited, this must be indicated.
Authors who submit their scientific manuscripts for publication in the journal must adhere to the following ethical standards:
Originality and compliance with the anti-plagiarism policy.
By submitting a manuscript, the author must ensure that the material complies with the journal’s plagiarism policy. The author must guarantee that the submitted work is original, is not plagiarism, and has not been previously published in any language. If the author has used the works or ideas of other researchers, this must be properly cited. Plagiarism in any form (lack of proper quotation marking, incorrect references and sources, incomplete reference list or bibliographic citation, excessive citation, etc.) is considered unethical behavior and is unacceptable.
Reliability.
Authors of scientific manuscripts must provide only reliable results of their research; knowingly false or falsified research and materials are unacceptable.
Ethical use of AI and AI-assisted technologies.
By submitting a manuscript, the author must ensure that the material complies with the journal’s policy on the use of artificial intelligence and AI-assisted technologies. In case of using AI for any of the relevant tasks, authors are always required to indicate this in the notes to the scientific work. Authors are prohibited from submitting manuscripts that are fully or substantially generated by AI, contain falsified empirical data, results of calculations, statistical samples, experimental results, etc., use AI as a source of scientific information, or cite AI as a primary source.
Recognition of authorship and co-authorship.
Both «gift authorship» (formal inclusion without real contribution) and «ghost authorship» (hidden authorship) are unacceptable. If individuals have made a significant contribution to the development of the concept, planning, execution, or interpretation of the described research, the author must indicate them as co-authors. Individuals who contributed to the research described in the article but whose contribution is not significant enough to qualify for co-authorship should be acknowledged. The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors and related individuals are properly indicated in the manuscript, have approved the final version, and have agreed to its submission for publication.
Disclosure of conflicts of interest.
By submitting a manuscript, the author must ensure that the material complies with the journal’s conflict of interest policy. In the presence of a conflict, including a potential one, the author or co-authors must inform the editorial board as soon as such a conflict or its possibility becomes known. All sources of financial support for the research must be disclosed.
Disclosure of research hazards.
If the scientific work involves the use of chemicals, procedures, or equipment that have a high level of inherent risk, the author must clearly indicate this in the manuscript.
Ethical oversight.
When submitting manuscripts in which the research involved humans, animals, their biological materials, personal or confidential data, a positive conclusion from the relevant ethics committee or other authorized body must be provided, in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine. Authors must submit such a conclusion together with the manuscript.
Disclosure of multiple or concurrent publications.
Simultaneous submission of the same scientific work to multiple journals is a violation of publication ethics and is unacceptable. By submitting a manuscript, the author must ensure that the same material is not under consideration elsewhere. If the author intends to carry out repeated or parallel publication, they must confirm that this is not done to artificially increase the number of publications, but only to disseminate scientific results, where appropriate. The author must obtain written consent for repeated or parallel publication from the editorial boards of both journals.
Compliance with requirements.
The submitted manuscript must comply with the requirements established by the editorial board and be submitted electronically in accordance with the Manuscript Submission Procedure.
Data access and retention.
Authors must be prepared to provide raw data of their research during the editorial process or to make such data publicly available if it is of public importance. Authors must retain such data after publication for a reasonable period, but not less than 3 years from the date of manuscript submission.
Correction of errors.
If the author discovers significant errors or inaccuracies in their work during the review process or after publication, they must promptly inform the editorial board and cooperate in correcting, issuing a notice, updating, or retracting the published material.
Authors who violate the standards of editorial ethics will be denied publication.
