General Principles.
The use of artificial intelligence tools and AI-assisted technologies as auxiliary means in the preparation of scientific publications is permitted provided that the following principles are observed:
– transparency and mandatory disclosure of AI use;
– full responsibility of the authors for the entire content of the manuscript, including parts created or modified using AI;
– prevention of violations of academic integrity;
– ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and reproducibility of results.
Permissible Areas of AI Use.
In the process of preparing scientific publications, AI may be used as an auxiliary tool, in particular for:
– language editing, correction of grammar, punctuation, and stylistic improvement of the text without changing its scientific content;
– translation of the text (provided that the author/translator verifies the accuracy of the translation and the absence of distortion of scientific meaning);
– data analysis, technical processing, interpretation and/or visualization (provided that the author verifies the accuracy of the obtained results);
– auxiliary search, selection, and systematization of scientific literature (provided that the author verifies the relevance and reliability of sources);
– preliminary analysis of the text for potential bias, discriminatory wording, or ethical risks (provided that final conclusions are formulated by the author independently);
– structuring of the text, preparation of drafts and/or technical formatting in accordance with the journal’s requirements.
Requirements for Disclosure of AI Use
In the case of using AI for any of the above tasks, authors are always required to indicate this in the notes to the scientific work. The note must include:
– a clear statement of the use of AI in the manuscript;
– a description of which part of the work was delegated, created, or processed using AI;
– the name of the AI tool and its version;
– a statement of full responsibility of the authors for the final manuscript.
Example of a Note on Disclosure of AI Use:
The authors declare the use of AI tools in the process of research and manuscript preparation.

The following tasks were delegated to AI under full human supervision:
– literature search and systematization;
– translation from Ukrainian into English;
Tool used: ChatGPT-5.
– generation of Fig. 1 for data visualization.
Tool used: Midjourney v7.

All research results are reliable and verified. The use of AI did not result in any violation of copyright, academic integrity, or ethical standards. The authors bear full responsibility for the final manuscript.
The note can be prepared independently or using the GAIDeT declaration generation tool.
Prohibited Areas of AI Use.
In the process of preparing scientific publications, it is prohibited to:
– submit texts that are fully or substantially generated by AI as one’s own scientific work (imitation of authorship);
– create the scientific content of an article, formulate hypotheses, generate and/or falsify research results and/or scientific conclusions;
– generate and/or falsify empirical data, calculation results, statistical samples, experimental results, case studies, etc.;
– use AI as a source of scientific information or cite AI as a primary source;
– create fictitious and/or unreliable sources of information, including generating incorrect references, DOIs, journal titles, or authors;
– generate images, graphs, or other materials that may mislead regarding their origin or scientific value;
– list AI or any AI-assisted technologies as an author or co-author;
– use AI to bypass academic integrity requirements.
Monitoring and Enforcement.
The editorial board monitors compliance with this policy and may use appropriate tools to detect improper or undisclosed use of AI. The editorial board reserves the right to request clarification or expansion of the AI use declaration in case of insufficient disclosure. In case of violations, the editorial board applies measures in accordance with publication ethics procedures, including rejection of the manuscript, retraction of the publication, or other actions.
Use of AI by Reviewers.
The editorial board of the journal «GRAIL OF SCIENCE» adheres to the highest standards of integrity in the peer review process. Reviewers are prohibited from using AI or AI-assisted technologies for automated writing of reviews and/or imitation of peer review. Reviewers are allowed to use AI-assisted technologies only for correcting grammatical errors and improving readability.
Use of AI by the Editorial Board.
The use of AI or AI-assisted technologies in the process of editorial decision-making is prohibited. A submitted manuscript must be treated as a confidential document; therefore, its full or partial upload to AI tools is strictly prohibited. The use of AI is also prohibited in correspondence with authors. All editorial decisions are made exclusively by humans and cannot be delegated to AI technologies.
Violations of this policy are considered in accordance with the Complaint Handling Procedure.
